Chandra K. Cooper, PharmD, BCPP, attended the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Following graduation, Dr. Cooper completed a psychiatric pharmacy residency at the Institute of Living in Hartford, Connecticut. She has been a board certified psychiatric pharmacist since 2003.
From 2001 to 2016, Dr. Cooper was the senior clinical specialist in psychiatry at Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital, caring for adult, child, and adolescent patients within the behavioral health service line. She was the residency program director for the PGY2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency Program for four years and is the current residency program director of the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at YNHH, which is one of the country’s largest residency programs.
Dr. Cooper is currently the Manager of Education and Residencies for the Department of Pharmacy at Yale New Haven Hospital. In her role as manager, she is responsible for system pharmacy residency accreditation readiness and clinical pharmacist orientation and training.
She lives in Southington, Connecticut, with her husband and two daughters. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and entertaining family and friends.
